HD Camera Pen is a fully functional elegant pen that has a built in DVR (Digital Video Recorder). Hidden compartment is where you insert your mini micro SD memory card. There is also a mini USB port for charging and transferring content to and from PC.
STEP 1 – GETTING STARTED A. Charging Your Cam Pen (First time only, charge
for 4 hours—thereafter, it’s usually a 15-minute recharge)
- Plug the USB cable into
the pen’s camera USB port and plug the other end into your computer USB port
(see illustration). First-Time Charge 4 Hours! - Disconnect the pen from
your USB cable/port once the charge is complete. - A fully charged pen will
have about 1.5 hours of recording time.
RECHARGING YOUR CAM PEN
- Recharge your pen as
needed — only takes approximately 15 minutes to recharge your pen. - Your pen’s indicator
light will blink while recharging, but once fully charged, it will shift from
a blinking light to a constant solid light. That’s it!
B. Insert the Micro SD Memory
Card
- Gently, but firmly, slide
the micro SD card into your pen slot (see illustration). You should feel solid
resistance when the SD card is fully inserted into the pen. About 1/8” of
the SD card will show when it’s inserted correctly. You are now ready to use
your pen. - Note: The Cam Pen will
not work without the micro SD memory card. All recordings/photos are stored
on the SD card.
TIPS & TRICKS
- Ensure the micro SD card
is pushed in completely or it will not collect data from the recording session.
- The indicator light will
blink red to indicate an SD card error. (This typically means the SD card
is inserted improperly.) - Your SD card’s memory
capacity (2GB – 4GB – 8GB – 16GB) will determine how much data can be recorded
while using the pen. - Your pen has a rechargeable
lithium battery that can hold about 1.5 hours of recording time for both videos
and photos. - Recharge your pen as
needed, usually takes approximately 15 minutes. (See “Recharging Your Cam
Pen instructions, above.)
STEP 2 – TURN ON THE SPY PEN
- Power up your pen by
pressing the On/Off Button on the top of the pen (see illustration) for 2-3
seconds. (To power off, press On/Off Button for 6 seconds.) - Check the indicator light
to ensure the pen has powered up properly. A SOLID GREEN indicator light will
show the pen is on and in - READY MODE. READY MODE
means you can start taking videos/photos.
STEP 3 – START RECORDING VIDEO
- From READY MODE start
recording by pressing the On/Off Button for 2-3 seconds. - Check the indicator light.
The light will blink several times to indicate that recording is about to
begin. - Once recording begins
the indicator light dims to a slow and steady blink. It should not attract
attention during a recording session.
TIPS & TRICKS
- Be sure that the camera
lens (see illustration) remains unobstructed during the recording session.
- To produce clean, clear
recordings, hold the pen as steady as possible during recording sessions.
STEP 4 – ENDING A RECORDING SESSION
- To stop recording, click
the On/Off Button once.
TIPS & TRICKS

simply toggle from recording to stop recording to recording again. - Once finished recording,
remember to power OFF your pen by pressing On/Off Button for 6 seconds.
STEP 5 – TAKING A PHOTO
- Take photos with one
quick click to the On/Off Button. - The green indicator light
will blink once to indicate that it has captured the photograph and returned
to READY MODE.
STEP 6 – VIEWING YOUR RECORDINGS AND PHOTOS
- Unscrew the top of the
pen to expose the USB port (see illustration). - Connect the USB cable
to the pen and connect the other end to your computer. - Wait for the pen’s SD
memory card device icon to appear on your computer desktop. (Or look to your
computer’s removable drives for the SD card.) - Double click on the icon/removable
drive to open and download the video footage/photos onto your computer hard
drive. - Best viewing is done
directly on your computer, not directly from the pen. Just copy the cam pen’s
files (photos & videos) onto your computer before viewing.
STEP 7 – ERASE FILES FROM YOUR MICRO SD CARD ~ FOR REUSE
- You can erase all videos
and photos from your pen’s SD card by clicking on each video/photo and pressing
the delete key on your computer’s keyboard. Once all videos/photos are removed,
your SD card is ready to record and take more videos and photos. - Be sure you are looking
at the files on your SD card (removable disc folder) and not those stored
on your computer. - Use the same method to
erase your computer files (video/photo) or save them to review over and over.
STEP 8 – CHANGING THE DATE ON YOUR “CAM PEN”
- Connect the USB cable
to the USB port of the computer. - Open the removable disc
folder and you will find the “time.txt”. - Revise the time and date
in this file “time.txt” and Save it. Next time, it will show the correct time
when you take videos/photos.
